From the perspective of constructivism and based on communication theory andinteraction theory, the author attempts to change the behavior of the classroom languageacquisition, construct new mechanism of students’ questioning and change the former silentatmosphere in the classroom in four and a half months of teaching practice at DalianPolytechnic University which is calculated to improve the classroom teaching quality, bringthe students’ subjective initiative into full play and enable them to rationally realize that theresponsibility of learning quality lies with both sides. The research data comes fromclassroom observations, questionnaires and interviews and participating subjects are fromBusiness English course of Dalian Polytechnic University. The author makes a comparativeanalysis which reveals that the students lack initiative and autonomy of questioning in theclassroom. Teachers, as major questioners and designers, play a leading role in the classroomwhile students often wait to be asked and questioned and rarely take the initiative to think andask questions actively. In the study, the author guides students to ask questions and manage toprovoke the shift in students’ attitude to classroom questioning which is reflected in theincrease of questioning frequency, the variation of questioning types and the improvement ofquestioning quantity and quality. Students’ questioning in English class has a profound impacton the conversion of learning subject role, interests and characteristics, as well as the skillsand ability, so as to achieve the aim of influencing the teaching consequence. The authordraws a conclusion that the students’ questioning frequency, skill and quality affect theteaching consequence in English class, which is the key link of cultivating the students’overall quality but also one of the important means of the evaluation of teachers’ classroomteaching consequence.
