1920,"Dr. Caligari’s Cabin" released in Berlin, the film with the novel’s plot, unique character modeling, absurd lens and hand-painted scenery, deeply attracted a large number of audience since then. It was also recognized as the pioneer of "German Film Expressionist". Till now,"Dr. Caligari’s Cabin" still appears on the recommend lists of the world’s major Film Academy of Drama. It was an occasional opportunity to get in touch with this movie. I am a movie zealot, when I was collecting Germany Expressionist literatures, I noticed such attractive work, which gave me a fresh mind set with its fabulous script, lustrous and dazzling expression and visual impact. In my graduation work, I choose Dr. Caligari as prototype, which is known as the first tragic role in the history of cinema. I analyzed the film’s features, combining with social implications, and the combination of the Germany expressionism of artistic features, for the sake of demonstrating my understanding of Germany Expressionism, and paying my tribute to such great film work.
