As the first of the Four Great Masterpieces of the Ming Dynasty, Jin Ping Mei, which fully demonstrated oral outlook of the the late Ming Dynasty, has significant characteristics of the times.It’s great significance for the study of address forms in Ming Dynasty, by studying address forms in Jin Ping Mei, searching structural classification, expression of functional, use constraints and so on in the address forms.By comparing with the definition of appellation, we defined the address forms of study required as:The names which are used to allege each other or others in verbal communication (face to face, psychological discourse).And we trying to study the admission structural constraints, the structure, function, pragmatic restrictions of address forms, by using the statistical thousands of address forms.The address forms is very complex, and the information of researching address forms structure constraints are quite limited.So we are trying to do some preliminary analysis of the type of structural constraints.This article take Jin Ping Mei Huiping Huijiao Edition as reach object.And we did some summarization and study of the address forms in it.The text is divided into five chapters.Chapter1is the preface which introduced the overview and significance of address form studies.Chapter2is the study of address forms structure.Here we divided the address forms we studied in to relative class and non-relative class.In relative class we studied it by dividing them into three levels which are between the same generation, younger to elders and elders to younger.In the non-relative class we studied from three classes, concerning names, pronouns and social. Chapter3is designed to study address forms functional classification which included pragmatic and emotional functions in Jin Ping Mei.In the former one, there are four functions which are conversation, prediction, indication and relation strengthen.The emotional functions fall into eight types, they are honorific, respectful, intimate, playful, modesty, conceited, contemptuous and cursing forms.Chapter4is the study of pragmatic restrictions, which concerning space&time, language courses, degree of formality, interpersonal relationships and discourse.We summarize this study at its epilogue.
