Research On Diplomatic Etiquette System In Jin Dynasty

Jin Dynasty was established by Nuzhen nationality which was a minorityduring the12th century in the Northeast of China. Soon after it had founded, itpledged to conquer Liao Dynasty and perished Liao, Northern Song Dynastywithin a short time. Then it vanquished Xi-Xia Dynasty, Korea Dynasty andconfronted with the Southern Song Dynasty for about a hundred years, whichformed The Second Northern and Southern Dynasties in Chinese history. The setof diplomatic etiquette institution formed in the process of interaction between JinDynasty and Song dynasty, Xi-Xia Dynasty, etc. occupies an important place inChinese history.This article is mainly divided into five parts. The first part focuses on internalaffairs and diplomacy of Jin Dynasty. This part expounds the diplomacy of JinDynasty briefly and inspects the diplomatic etiquette organization and its functionfrom the influence of Chinesization and feudalization to Jin regime.The second part focuses on diplomatic envoys system of Jin Dynasty. Thepart inspects the kind of Jin envoy, the composition of the mission, national gift,etc. and analyzed the ambassador by official of the Jin Dynasty envoyphenomenon.The third part focuses on the specific content of the Jin Dynasty diplomaticetiquette system, including the Jin Dynasty to be etiquette for foreign diplomatsshuttle etiquette, the Museum-see toward the speech analyzer, FestivalCelebrations.It has been discovered through study that there is an integrated set ofdiplomatic etiquette institution in Jin diplomatic practice. From foreign envoysentering into Jin to deviating from the area, Jin Dynasty provided with appropriatediplomatic courtesy that run through the whole diplomatic activities.The last part discusses the role of Jin diplomatic etiquette institution. Theultimate goal of the institution was for the sake of safeguarding its own interests.In the meantime, the institution impacted the traditional concept of Hua Yi,demonstrated the orthodox position of Jin Dynasty and enable Jin to have priorityin foreign affairs. Through studies with Jin diplomatic etiquette institution, not only could helpus to understand Jin history profoundly, but also extends the research of Jin history.This study would provide a unique perspective on the research of Jin history.
