Since the second year of Shunzhi, Qing Dynasty set up Shaanxi governor firstlyuntil the second year of Xuantong, and it was never suspended during260years.Similarly, these provinces such as Jiangning、Zhejiang、Jiangxi and Pianyuan werejust next to Shandong、Shanxi and Henan, which had governors from the first year ofShunzhi to the second year of Xuantong. Obviously, the status of Shanxi governor inQing Dynasty was very important. Therefore, studying this position and its generalsituation can help us understand the governor system of Qing Dynasy deeply. Inaddition, Shanxi’s position and function can be totally understood. And then the cluesof Qing Dynasty’s historical evolution can be grasped accurately.Since1840, there was totally53who were appointed formally by the royalgovernment, including those who were not assumed office after the appointment andthe sick leave or such a vacancy arose between the former and present governor. Thispaper mainly adopts the statistics research methods, studying the Shaanxi governorsince modern times, the situation of the community protects the governor, background,the proportion between Qi and Han, term of office and the transfer condition. Besides,expecting to describe the common characteristics in this political group, and clear theregular change in the process of historical development.
