China is a multi-national unified country, According to the national minority development needs and wishes, implementing the bilingual teaching in the schools of minority regions are a basic policy of our national education policies. Strengthen the team construction of minority "bilingual " teachers of Primary and secondary schools, further promote bilingual teaching and improve the quality of education and teaching is a major strategic initiative of building a well-off society in an all-round way in our region. At the same time, the quantity and quality of teachers in primary and secondary schools has always been a keys and basis of promoting " Bilingual Teaching "of primary and secondary schools and Deciding the success or failure of the teaching. Now the lack of bilingual teachers has become one of the bottlenecks in restricting the development of Bilingual Teaching. Bilingual teacher training is an imperative way to promote the bilingual education effectively.In order to develop and improve the quality of minority area’s education and teachers quality, since2003, the state and the autonomous region financed a huge fund to increase minority "Bilingual" teacher’s training.These measures brought thousands of good opportunities to the development of minority "bilingual" teachers of primary and secondary school in Xinjiang. Under this background, the research on minority bilingual teachers training situation of primary and secondary school in south of Xinjiang is chosen as a researched topic. By using the method of literature analysis, questionnaire survey and interview, analyzed some problems which is existing in the current training, and put forward reasonable suggestions to solve these problems.This paper contains four parts:The first part is an introduction. Mainly about the study backgrounds, significances, definitions of related concepts, the research summary and the research methods.The second part is about the supporting theories of "Bilingual" teacher’s training. It mainly introduces the core theory of bilingual education, Terence Odlin’s Language Transfer theory, multicultural education theory and the theory of pluralistic unity of the Chinese nation. It played theoretical guiding role in this paper.The third part is an investigations and analysis of the current situation of minority "bilingual" teacher training of primary and secondary school in south of Xinjiang. This part is the most important and includes two sides:one is did the study through questionnaire survey and interviews for bilingual teachers who are training now. Find some problems which is existing in current training after analyzing work; another is did a monthly research on bilingual teachers who have finished training and went back to work in south Xinjiang. Mainly about the situation after going back to work and effects of training. This is a submission for first one. At the last give brief view for the current training work.The fourth part is conclusion. After analyzing the problem in third part, give some advice and thoughts for the training work of minority "bilingual" teachers of primary and secondary school in south of Xinjiang aim to improve the training effects of minority "bilingual" teachers of primary and secondary school in south of Xinjiang.
