Life is the most precious asset to a person and could be possessed only once, thuswithout life,anything else is groundless. As for education, it is dedicated to makepeople treasure their life and elevate the value of it. In recent years, life education hasbeen spread rapidly in the world and has attracted great attentions of the educationsector. Life educaiton in China has also been sailing on and will surely become themain value orientation in the sphere of school education. Though life education is abrand new concept, education throughout the ages has always been pursuing thevalue of life and attaching importance to the life evolvement. And only by tracingback the development of education in the course of history, could we betterunderstand the life education.Elias Canetii once said:“Maybe only the Chinese culture in the world couldenable people not to idle around and to let time slip away in vain in that Chineseculture puts all valuable things into life." Chinese traditional culture is abundant oflife education thoughts. In a way, the traditional Chinese philosophy is equvilant tothe philosophy of life, for many thoughts of the former were carried out around thelife thoughts. Confucianism whcih was evolved through several periods is themainstream in Chinese traditional culture and plays a domainate role in it. Theconfucianism in pre-qin period contained rich life educaiton thoughts demonstrated byits in-depth discussions and descriptions of people’s life and death, the value of lifeand other questions related to life with a positive attitude to participate into the sociallife. As a result, it provides important theoretical basis to solve the complicated lifeproblems in front of us through exploring the life education thoughts of confucianismin pre-qin period.This essay is composed of seven parts:Part one, the preface. Clarify the selection background of the topic andimplications for the research, meanwhile, it analyses the status quo of the research onthe life education of confucianism in pre-qin period from both home and abroad andits prospects. It gives introduction to the main methods adopted in the writing, themain thinkings and finally the innovation in this regard.Part two. Give a brief introduction to the current life education. It elaborates onthe concept of life education which includes its put forth, its connotation and thetheory and the status quo of life education, which has paved the way for theintroduction of life education thoughts of confucianism in pre-qin period.Part three. Clarify the life views of confucianism in pre-qin period, which is thefundation to get to know the life education part. It also explores the theoratical origins,the background and the main contents of the life views of confucianism in this period.Part four. Give a detailed description of the life education thoughts ofconfucianism in pre-qin period. It summarizes its abided by principles, main contents and main activities for life education.Part five. Evaluate the life education thoughts of confucianism in pre-qin periodfrom both positive and negative aspects along with the analyse of its rudimentalfeatures.Part six. Combined with the reality it clarifies the revelation provided by the lifeeducation thoughts of confucianism in pre-qin period to the current education inhigher learning schools. Through learning from the old life education systems, higherlearning schools should take related measures and perfect the current systems, in themeanwhile, they should create harmonious life education circumstances, integratevarious life education resources and strenghten connections among schools, societyand families, thus provides an environment that is in favour of the sound developmentof students’ life.Part seven, conclusion. Give a summary of this essay, introduce the results as wellas the problems and shortcomings of this essay. Clarify the orientation in the futureand try to make beakthroughs on the basis of this topic.
