Hughes made a distinction between artphotography from the photography function, and critic Gerry Badji summed up the twodirections of the art photography.Starting from the concept of "art photography" established, more and more artistsbegan to get involved in photography to make art, and another type of art, the influence ofphotography on other types of art became more rapidly and deeply. Photography enteredthe modeling domain with a more advanced and contemporary attitude,becoming anothermeans of artistic expression and language style and an integral part of contemporary art.Especially the entry of digital technology enriched the vocabulary of contemporaryphotography both in ideas and means.Mr. Li Zhengdao,a winner of Nobel Prize in physics, once said:"Arts and science aretwo sides of a coin."For example,geometry and anatomy promoted Renaissance; theinvention of the tubular pigment promoted the Impressionist; industrial revolution createdthe Bauhaus Art Institute and promoted Cubism photography mechanistic generation.The invention of photography brought out greater changes,prompted paintings fromreproduction into performance,from the neoclassical into the modern era.We are in the eraof visual revolution, digital technology also brought immeasurable changes intophotography,injecting fresh elements and vitality into this area. Under the background andcontext of contemporary art,photography is increasingly applied,it can be a tool, a means oran end, behavior.of photography is used by artists continually because of its carriercontemporary and therefore art photography self-propagating in the process of continuousintegration,so it is no longer simply a landscape for wall decorations or a human photo, buthas all the features of the art,and expresses the thought of the photographer with imagelanguage.The entry of digital technology expanded the performance of the language ofphotography,and more elements could be applied to the art of photography.Thebreakthrough of the bottleneck of shooting technique in early stage showed a morepowerful force of thinking,and the computer graphic software in later period,madeinconceivable effects and artistic expression in a traditional darkroom on the basis of fastand efficient.Philosophical thinking on aesthetic ideas which digital art brought out let usre-combing the context of art photography,all these enriched and expanded the expressiveforce of the art of photography.So the photography continues to broaden and enrich its ownfield with new technology, looking for new performance space constantly.This article demonstrated this view from two main aspects.First,on the technicallevel,technology in which and how to promote the development of the art of photography;Second,how did philosophical thinking on aesthetic ideas which digital art brought outinfluence the creation of art photography, and discussed the relationship between digitaland traditional photography,realized the traditional skills existential meaning and valuewhile affirmed the positive role of digital technology, as well as the future trends of digitaltechnology in art photography, analyzed the topic of digital extension of the artphotography in muti-level.
