Doris Lessing(Doris Lessing,1919-) is a contemporary literature of international reputation British female writer,winner of the2007Noble Prize for Literature. Masterpiece The Golden Notebook since it’s publication,it’s wide view,skillful writing ways,and the sharp profound themes,attracted much debates and discussion in domestic and foreign scholars. As the view of political themes discussion in the eighties of20th century,seems have too much misunderstanding on political,so the comments becomes superficial,critics later mostly like to study the work from other angles and avoid political theme view. But This paper believe that political theme is important to understand The Golden Notebook, and should not be ignored. This thesis was depend on the previous research related theme study, summed up the political theme of this novel,as well as it’s express ways,abstracted political dimension and Lessing herself political orientation as well as the reasons. The paper has six parts. First part Introduce the research status and study trend of this novel. Chapter2analysis the political significance in this novel. Chapter3to5developed the political theme forms,from humanitarian,colonization,feminism three angles to interpret. The sixth part is the conclusion part,summarized Lessing’s point of view,under female perspective,on the political issues,and her way of stimuli-presenting mode on political themes. Overall,the novel showed Lessing as a writer,took responsible of closing to reality, influenced people’s life,and realized her wish of writing social life.
