Daoqing is one of the oldest religious arts. It first preached the ideas of Taoism and then combined with the art of folk song and dance, which made it full of unique artistic charm. Daoqing exists in more than20cities and provinces across China. It has shown the differences of folk-customs, music and language of more than half of China in its various forms. It is the unparalleled art-form. Shanxi Daoqing arises from Shanxi traditional culture based on the differences of geography, religion and operas, full of local characters, widely welcomed by the average people and easy to be understood. At the beginning of Shanxi Daoqing’s formation, it was covered by the religious overcoat and thus was called "Deity’s Opera". In the long history, although Shanxi Daoqing had brought through the obstacles of Taoism ideas, and became the folk art form with various singing contents, the trace of religious cultures This is not only the proof of investigating the history and cultural derivation of Shanxi Daoqing, but also the demonstration of studying the development of Chinese traditional culture. However, as a local opera, which has innumerable links with Taoism and lives in Shanxi with rural characteristics, only a few people has ever concerned the studies of its folk-customs, religious meaning and cultural value so far.This article takes the opera cultures study as a breakthrough point, focuses on a deeper, more detailed and full facets study of Shanxi Daoqing in the background of culture, and further recognizes the cultural connotation and cultural value between Daoqing and Taoism culture, Shanxi Daoqing and Jin culture, and Shanxi Daoqing culture. Based on this, this article still hopes to contribute its study to the studies of Chinese local operas and San Jin cultures.This article includes four main chapters:The first chapter is Taoism culture and Taoism music. In this chapter, on the foundation of the emergence and development of Taoism, this article has pointed out that Daoqing results from Taoistic music and is the inevitable result of the mixed factors function together which are the Taoism Expansion, Publicity Doctrine and the high development of musical arts. The second chapter is Shanxi Daoqing Opera. It is a branch of the art of Daoqing. Because of the innate religious quality, and because of the influence by local folk-customs, Shanxi Daoqing has formed its own unique characteristics, which is expressed by the multi-strategic structure of the evolution and musical integration. The third chapter is the artistic characteristics of the four types of Shanxi Daoqing. After the contrast analysis of the musical study of Shanxi Daoqing dramas, this article brings the practical meanings of the general issues of exploring the mutual absorption of Daoqing and other operas. The fourth chapter is conclusion part. It has made the deep analysis of the studies on Shanxi Daoqing.
