The article is based on deep analysis of abundant hypertext literary works and flexible application of literary theory.It illustrates the main features of hypertext literature, and it also focuses on new changes in hypertext reading and writing:hypertext writing subjects and reading subjects, the main process of writing and reading., and the theoretical significance of these changes.There are five sections in this article.The first chapter mainly clarifies the definition of hypertext and hypertext literature.The second chapter deals with the new qualities which hypertext technology brings to literature. This chapter mainly discusses the application of three kinds of technology in literature:the interactive interface, hyperlink technology and multimedia technology, which gives rise to new characteristics like multi-linear structures, multimedia form in hypertext literature.Additionally, the differences between hypertext literature and its former printed forms are analyzed in this chapter.The third chapter describes the changes in the theory and operation of the hypertext literature writing.At the theoretical level, hypertext literature deconstructs the identity and function as the literary practice. Furthermore,in the process of hypertext writing, the way writers organize the text,select materials and deal with rhetoric links changes.The fourth chapter analyzes on hypertext reading on both theoretical and practical levels.On theoretical level, hypertext literary brings an illuminating concept of text and a new reading subject that the printed text does not own.In addition to that, the tendency of game have compelled us to meditate profound reflection.Furthermore, on a practical level, this chapter introduces three challenges of the reading:the stray problem, mutual infiltration of ontology and the repeat, and how authors deal with these three "problem" to solve method.
