As documentary is an artistic form of the actual events recording, the authenticity is the basic principles of documentary making, which somewhat reduce the artistic quality and not that attractive. With the development of documentary, more and more scholars put their eyes on the story of documentary. How do story elements be put into a documentary, How could we make it more attractive by putting the story elements in on the base of authenticity, This paper is based on those questions to talk about how to use story elements when making a documentary.
