An Analysis On The Role Of Ideological And Political Education In China’s Strategy Of Building A Country Of Powerful Culture

The strategic guideline of constructing a country with powerful culture was determined in the six plenary session of the17th CPC Central commission. The socialist culture then witnessed a new surge of leaping forward towards greater prosperity. The report of18th Party congress explicitly required that we should steadily push forward the grand strategy of building a socialist country with strong culture. The report also made an in-depth analysis of the important role culture plays in the building of a moderately prosperous society in all respects and the process of the revival of the nation, as well as the significance and functions of culture development. The grand strategy of building a country with strong culture is an important measure we apply to upgrade the soft power of our country and improve the overall national strength. It meets the demands of building a society with balanced development in regards of social, political, economic, cultural and ecological synchronic advancement, and as the key support to realize the "China dream".Ideological and political education is closely related to culture, as an ideology related mind instruction, it is also characterized by its culture elements. The ideological and political education is an important way of implementing the grand strategy of building a country with powerful culture. That is because, it is closely related to culture and the ideological and political education itself is a type of culture. Therefore such a mind instruction is also an important part of the strategy. The strategy of building a country with powerful culture broadens the horizon of ideological and political education and the ideological and political education is therefore an applicable part of the strategy. On the other hand, the role ideological and political education plays in the strategy reflects its functions. For example, it serves as a navigator, guiding the correct direction of culture and sub-culture development; it serve as a clarifier, being vigilant about the "depoliticisation" of culture strategy and preventing the "politicalization" of culture strategy, it also serves as a manufacturer, creating advanced culture in the theory discussions, breeding the advanced culture in practice, restoring new culture in the collisions between our traditional culture and the advanced culture. However, as a matter of fact, the role of ideological and political education may also be disturbed by outside factors. The related adjustments of the ideological and political education mark its changing orientations in our culture strategy. As the challenges of Ideological and political education are mainly from the restraints resulting from factors as the multiple cultural environment, the extension of cultural functions of ideological and political education, the under development of ideological and political education carriers and so forth, the adjustment of the role ideological and political education plays in culture strategy requires that we should, based on the grand trends of culture diversity, explore the new culture functions of ideological and political education, actively developing new educational carriers.
