As a classical medical book of Taoism, Huangdi neijing contains not only theobjective laws of nature, society, thinking, etc, but also the theory of the universe,appearance-verve theory, the concept of health from the perspective of life philosophyof ontology. At the same time, Huangdi neijing explores the influences and functionswhich music can give to people’s formation, modality and modulation on the aspectsof psychology as the basis, medical knowledge, pharmacology, physiology and so on.Starting from the word "Zhi", this paper had researched and explored threeaspects: the music aesthetics of pre-qin philosophy, the psychology and the generalsociology. This paper interpreted the formation of aesthetic thoughts in Huangdineijing.By the deduction of the specific meaning of the word "Zhi", this paper made amore comprehensive analysis and discuss about the aesthetic thought of musicshowed by Huangdi neijing and even Taoism in order to sort out and compareConfucianism, Taoism, Legalism, Monism, which can provide literature reference forthe future study about the essential characteristics of the music, music ideas, therelationship between the music content and formation of Taoism.
