Sofia Gubaidulina(1931-)is the most famous Rassian woman composer all over the world. With Schnittke and Denisov, she is known as one of the Three Masters of Russian Contemporary Music. Her unique music style is completely dissimilar to any other music styles or musicians. Her aesthetic concept, composing techniques, work design, sound dffevts,all has the very strong personal color. She constructed works through the Antinomy and morden composition techniques to express the deep feeling and achieve unity of sense and sensibility.Numerical plots plays a very important part in Gubaidulina’s composition techniques and she improve it to a new level. She put numbers as the foundation of composition and the new way of "the rhythm of form". She applied all kinds of numbers, proportions and the sequences in different levels of the works to connect the pieces into a whole.Through the number alphabet,she expressed the mysterious symbol and embodied the perfect integration of Sense and Sensibility.This article will analysis Gubaidulina’s work Meditation on the Bach Chorale "Vor deinen Thron tret ich hiermit"(1993) from the perspective of the relation of the numbers and music to reveal the deep thought of the number mysticism and religious symbolism.And a comparative analysis will be carried on the representative composers in different periods of music history to expound the history of the numbers in music and to evaluate Gubaidulina’s creative contribution from the perspective of history.
