This article’s research object is the criticism of Japanese essay on poetics to the poetry of Qing dynasty in the Edo age of Japan. In the first chapter, the author will introduce the general situation of Japanese essays on poetics. The Japanese essay on poetics developed under the influence of ancient China, whose main contents were the comments on the poets and poetry of China. So it both had the characteristic of Chinese essays on poetics, and had the local and national characteristics of Japan. And the Edo period was the heyday of development to Japanese essay on poetics. Then the author will research the subject and summarize the poetic criticism point to the poets of Qing dynasty in Japanese essays on poetics through the criticism to some representative poets of Qing dynasty, which includes the criticism to the poet Qian Qianyi in early Qing dynasty, to Wang Shizhen and his poetic view on verve, to Yuanmei and his poetic point on spirit, to Shen Deqian and his poetic view on style. At last, the author will conclude the reflected characteristics of the criticism and discuss the significance and influence to the later generations.
