The Analysis Into The Translation Of The Reports To The Sixteenth、Seventeenth And Eighteenth National Congress Of The CPC

The thesis does research into three reports to the National Congress of the CPC from the angle of rhetorical audience and rhetorical constraints. The corpus are mainly Chinese and English versions of the reports to the Sixteenth、Seventeenth and Eighteenth National Congress of the CPC. The thesis does an all-around research and an analysis into the comparison of three Chinese versions as well as their translation. It concludes their discoveries into four points. First of all, in comparison with the translation of the reports to the Eighteenth National Congress of the CPC there exist some mistakes in the translation of the reports to the Sixteenth and Seventeenth National Congress of the CPC. Secondly,the expression in English version of three reports is varied. There are many multiple expressions. Thirdly, there are many words with Chinese characteristics in Chinese versions of three reports. Most of their translations are based on the fact that their translations fully consider the receiving habits of western readers. But some are not. Fourthly, when translators translate the words with Chinese characteristics of the three reports, he should fill up the cultural vacancy in order to be accepted by western readers. In addition, translators should consider the connotation of their translation and the innovation of their expressions. The author unearths the bright spots of good translation from the three reports in a classified way and does a discussion into how do the translators of the three reports respect rhetorical audience、overcome rhetorical constraints and help western readers understand the change of Chinese policies and conditions.
