Ming Dynasty Clothing Evolutions And Exegetics

By using the knowledge of archaeological, different customs and materials and so on we can explain the vocabulary of things that appear in historical materials. It is called the interpretation of materials and is an important part of the traditional exegetics. In order to explain and analyze these things, we need to research the background, origin, shape, use and evolution of this topic. In ancient China, The Ming Dynasty was the last dynasty for the Han ethnic costume development. It was also the dynasty for the culmination of the Han ethnic costumes. The Ming Dynasty clothing was followed by the Yuan Dynasty era of clothing These inturn affected and influenced the Qing Dynasty clothing. The Ming Dynasty clothing had an important and far-reaching significance impact in the history of Chinese costumes.Accordingly, this dissertation takes the Ming Dynasty clothing and the relative clothing vocabularies as the research object, from the point of the Chinese exegetics, by using the methods of literature, historical materials and archaeological materials. At the same time also using comprehensive research methods, case studies, comparative studies and empirical research data, in order to do a deep and systematic investigation of the early, middle and late eras of the Ming Dynasty, and to do a particular explanation to clothing vocabularies. Hopefully we have a complete review of the Ming Dynasty clothing evolution. This dissertation has all five parts. The introduction primarily includes the summary of the Ming Dynasty, the research methods, research ideas, and the stages of Ming Dynasty costumes. The main body includes the early, middle, late areas of the Ming Dynasty. Including what affected the clothing changes, the characteristics and different classes of costumes. It also explains the clothing vocabularies and illustrates the Ming Dynasty clothing evolution.The last part shows the significance of the Ming Dynasty clothing in the history of Chinese clothing.
