Interpretation Of Ideology For Tibetan Films

The Theory of Ideological State Apparatus that proposed by the French structuralist Louis Althusser, provides a theoretical basis of ideological criticism. Althusser points out that as a part of national ideological tool, the movie itself has a significant ideological character. Chinese movies especially ethnic minority movies follow this theory. Thus due to the beautiful scenery, unique cultural customs and specific political factors in Tibet, Tibet movies has played an indispensable important role in the development of Chinese ethnic minority movies and becomes to be an important part in the history of Chinese movies. Also, the expression of ideology has distinct differences when shooting films in different times, in different countries and by different nationalities in Tibet.This paper has been divided into three parts which consists of Preface, Text and Conclusion. Preface has made clear of the definition of Tibet movies and analyzed the relationship between Althusser’s theory of ideology and film; the Text is divided into four chapters, the first chapter introduces the ideology from the content reflected by Tibet movies; the second chapter analyzes the way ideology expressed in Tibet movies; the third chapter analyzes the effect of ideology in Tibet movies; the fourth chapter embarks from the main creation part, make an analysis of ideology about identity appeal of cast members in Tibet movies crew. According to the above research and analysis, the Conclusion part makes a prospect of Tibet movie’s development in the future.
