“Humurous Story” is a common literature feature in both Chinese and Englishliterature history, and occupies a specific status in the development history of bothChinese and English novels.“Humurous Story” rose along with the development ofnovel, and experienced different development processes in the two countries, andpresented unique features and styles of each other. And last, it discussed the development process of Chinese andEnglish humurous stories, and made preparation for further research in this thesis.Part II conducted comparative study of the ideological connotation of Chinese andEnglishe humurous stories. Second, this thesis conducted thecomparative strudy of the criticalness of Chinese and English humurous stories inaesthetic significance. And last, it discussed the aethetic connotation of Chinese andEnglish humurous stories.Part III conducted the comparative strudy of the difference and similarities ofexpression skills between Chinese and English humurous stories. Chinese and Englishhumurous story express the humor through “disclosing incongruity and unreasonablethings in life by expression skills of representation, irony and pun, etc”. It also discussed the differences of Chinese and English humurous stories on obtaining humor throughcontradiction and the use of these expression skills. Most of the existing academic researches in current academic circle aimed atconducting one to one parallel study or influence study of individual writer in China andEngland, but did not contain the general description of the comprehensive appearance ofhumurous story in both China and England. This thesis mainly conducted thecomprehensive and macroscopic comparison and discussion of main features of Chineseand English humurous stories through parallel study, and tried to explore the reason andinfluence of these differences through cross-culture study of literature, history, aestheticsand culture.
