Abstract/Summary:
This thesis consists of the translation practice of the book Remastering Morals with Aristotle and Confucius by May Sim, associate professor of philosophy at The College of the Holy Cross, and the report on the whole translation process as well as the translation methods of relevant contextual contents.The report, first of all, describes the translation task, including contents, volume and characteristics, etc. of the task, and then all stages of the whole translation process, including knowledge preparation, theory preparation, method preparation, primary translation, examination, feedback and final draft.The major part of the report is analysis on the typical cases during the translation, which is made in combination with relevant translation theory and contains translation of title, flexible translation, style and translation, and network tools. Then, what the author has learnt from such translation practice is stated, including overall consciousness, translation journal, translation theory, conditions of qualified translators. At last, the translation practice is summarized and the aspects to be improved by the author are confirmed.
