This thsis mainly explores the pronounciation errors of English students in their oral Chinese. Based on the research of previous scholars, the writer refers to Error Analysis theory and Interlanguage theory, and uses transcription corpus of "Chinese Bridge" and "The World is Different", in order to illustrate the pronounciation errors, point out the reasons and then offer some useful teaching methodlogy of pronounication.The thesis can be divided into5parts:The chapter one gives a brief view of pronunciation error to English students in their oral Chinese, and introduces the aim of this research, the theoretical principles and the investigation process and methods.In chapter two, firstly, based on the theories of Chinese initials, finals and tones, the thesis explores the error rate and forms in oral Chinese of English students. The findings cincludes:the initials errors mainly in b, p, d, t, g, k, h, j, q, x, zh, ch, sh, r, z, c, s; while the finals errors mainly in a, e, i, u, u, er, ai, ei, ao, ou, uo, ue, uan, uen and the syllables of the ending of final-n and-ng. What’s more, we also find that the students often make some errors in the tone of Chinese Pu Tong Hua Pin Yin, the errors on Yin Ping, Yang Ping, Shang Sheng and Qu Sheng.The chapter three analyzes these pronunciation errors and the reasons that led to these errors are diversified, including the misunderstanding of basic feature of Chinese phonetic, the first language transfer, the negative transfer of the target language.In chapter four, the writer recalls the process of this research and proposes the feasible phonetic teaching solutions and strategies, so as to improve the efficiency of the second language teaching and learning in the future.The last chapter of thesis we first describe the situation of Chinese phonetic teaching to English students in China. Then summarizing the research results and pointing out the in adequacies of the thesis.
