Research On Chinese Artistic Photography Since The Beginning Of The New Century

Focusing on the entire photographic development history, this thesis combs the development vein of artistic photography by utilizing methods of artistic criticism, artistic dissemination, comparative study and so on, analyzing influences of the progress of analytical science technology and post-modernism ideological trend regarding the artistic photography, especially artistic photography entering the new century. By studying the artistic photography creation, this thesis also gives the new definition of artistic photography "utilizing advanced imaging technology transforms ideas of authors into fixed instantaneous art".On this basis, depending on differences of the subject, artistic photography will be divided into portrait photography, scenery photography, and conceptual photography, in addition, according to the function of photography, it includes commercial portrait photography, advertising photography and fashion photography. This thesis also by comparing the differences between Chinese and western artistic photography, and analyzing the artistic photography in China since2000, explores its predicament from four aspects:the perceptual materials, structural relations, the subject types, and the depth of meaning. It analyzes the causes of the predicament form three angles:the creator and creation conception, disseminator and route of transmission, the receiver and social values. The thesis will make every effort to explain the present situation of artistic photography in our country and discuss its development path so as to provide some references for the theoretical research of artistic photography and practice of creation in China.
