Research On The Royal Poem During The Northern Song Dynasty

In this article, the poetry that belongs to the Northern Song Dynastywith the word "should be" is as a text. Scholars usually pay little attentionand hold negative attitude on the text. It needs to be fully carding. On thebasis of previous research, this paper shows the rise and fall of royalpoetry in Northern Song Dynasty, and importantly analyzes its contents,artistic characteristics, limitations, and Influence factors. As a specialkind of poetry, royal poetry is denounced by people for a long time,investigating its reason, nothing else but its praising content andexcessive embellishment. Actually, royal poetry is illiberal and toneless,because it produces in closed environment and serves for the king. But asa kind of the classical poetry, royal poetry is continued in the entire feudalsociety, and in certain time, its quantity has reached suitable scale, and itsart characteristic also has made considerable progress. As the same time,for the particularity of content, writer, creative environment and thereceiving object, studying the royal poetry is beneficial to reflect the time environment, the social convention, the cultural policy and the ruler’shigh-level living condition and it is also useful to comprehend the poetrytide and creative atmosphere. Based on the comprehensive deliberatingabout the royal poetry in Northern Song Dynasty, this paper attempts tocorrect the one-sided understanding.
