In the early periods of film making, the French film pioneer Georges Melies adapted news events in order to create visual spectacles. The first China’s feature film "Yan Ruisheng" used as well news events to reveal social problems. Using news events as material for the films is a technique used since the starts of film making. But unlike literature and theater, this technique has remained hidden in all kinds of movies, not being valued as a separate category of study in China. This article will analyze three kinds of subject:the material selection of the entire film making process, the film language and the image transmission. Especially we are going to study the issues and factors that must be considered in the switching between different media in movie adaptations. Through the analysis of specific films we are going to summarize the rules of film adaptation. The conversion from news to movies brings new experiences to movie-goers. After all, the transmission of the news information need to be built in the human’s brain, and the image transmission would be projected more directly. As a result, the film expressed the subjects, ideas and values more convenient and accurate, or even broader. Therefore, the film adaption is a different voice in the field of film-making, they have a special source. Although they are not that romantic as those adaption form fiction or drama film, adaptation of news events into film shake the hearts of the audience with the realities.
