Through the background and the work analysis and the genre to study Edward MacDowell’s piano pieces "New England Idylls".MacDowell as an important early American musicians in the creation at the turn of the century as reflected in the variety of music characterized by mining as an American music featuring the composer’s sense of mission.From Germany to learn the rigorous techniques of romantic beginning to settle in the United States under the influence of MacDowell’s late piano pieces perfectly to the German tradition of creative techniques and the American folk music feature fusion,and the delicate poetry in the literature,the genres,including poetry and exquisite piano pieces blend.The characteristics of this creation by the various social backgroud affected,including MacDoweoll very close to a variety of friends who’s well known in the literary and art circles.This article is committed to the adoption of musicology and composition analysis of "New England Idylls",introduced MacDowell’s creation of distinctive characteristics and the European music MacDowell’works better.
