Objective:Observe the change of serum vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) inmetastatic colorectal cancer patients with chemotherapy plus or not bevacizumab, and toexplore its relationship with curative effect. Methods:Collect hospitals in anhui province in October2011to September2013,60cases of patients with metastatic colorectal cancer,34cases (56.7%) of men, women26cases (43.3%); Age between35-79years old, of which42cases (70.0%),60or more <6018cases (30.0%); Colon cancer had37cases (61.7%), colorectal cancer have23cases (38.3%); Tissue differentiation degree: high differentiation in16cases (26.7%),low differentiation44cases (73.3%). All cases were confirmed by pathologicalhistology pathology types as an adenocarcinoma, and all cases always not line targetedtherapy, or chemotherapy and bevacizumab treatment interval for more than six months. All patients were divided into two groups: group are application of bevacizumabcombined FOLFOX-6scheme chemotherapy, the control group were applied FOLFOX-6scheme chemotherapy; Collect all the groups of patients with colorectal cancerbefore and after chemotherapy in4cycles of chemotherapy fasting venous blood, application of ELISA method for detection of VEGF levels respectively, and evaluatethe curative effect of patients with the corresponding time.Results:30patients before and after chemotherapy with bevacizumab serum VEGFlevels is (422.5±39.4)pg/ml and (331.4±49.8) pg/ml; another of30patients before and after chemotherapy without bevacizumab serum VEGF levels is (418.1±32.4)pg/ml and(371.7±26.3) pg/ml. The serum VEGF levels drop rates is21.18%and10.8%whetherwith bevacizumab therapy, the difference is statistically significant (P <0.05).It existspositive correlation between the changes of serum VEGF levels and the curative effect(r=0.750, P <0.005).Conclusions:Metastatic colorectal cancer systemic chemotherapy can affect the levelof serum VEGF, plus bevacizumab targeted serum VEGF levels after treatment can bedecreased obviously, and the efficiency increased significantly. Dynamic detection ofserum VEGF levels can effectively guide the efficacy of bevacizumab targeted therapy, and convenient detection methods, Also it can help to improve clinical choice oftreatment.
