| Objective: To evaluate the clinical effect of cytokine induced killer cells(CIK) adoptive immunotherapy combined with chemotherapy for the treatmentof advanced colorectal cancer.Methods: From January2013to December2013,68patients sufferingfrom advanced colorectal cancer from The People’s Hospital of GuangxiZhuang Autonomous region were enrolled. The patients were divided into twogroups, the experimental group (n=34) were treated with CIK cells adoptiveimmunotherapy combined with chemotherapy of mFOLFOX6or FOLFIRI.Compared with the same period, the control group (n=34) were only treatedwith chemotherapy of mFOLFOX6or FOLFIRI. The clinical effect of twogroups were compared.Results: The effective rate and disease controlling rate of the experimentalgroup was85.2%; while in control group, it was64.7%, the difference wasstatistically significant (P <0.05). In experimental group, the incidence rates of leucopenia, neutropenia, nausea, vomiting, and anorexia were lower than that ofcontrol group, the incidence of adverse reactions was statistically significant(P<0.05). The Karnofsky score (KPS) improvement rate of the experimental andcontrol group was58.9%and41.2%, respectively; there was significantstatistically difference (P <0.05). In the term of physical function, emotionalfunction, fatigue, nausea and vomiting of EORTC QLQ-C30Version3.0ratingscale, the experimental group were significant improved than that of controlgroup (P <0.05).Conclusion: For patients with advanced colorectal cancer, CIK cellsadoptive immunotherapy combined with chemotherapy treatment was moresuperior than chemotherapy. Combined therapy can improve life quality ofpatients, reduce side effects. |
