Objective: Evaluate the feasibility and efficacy of dynamic neutralization system(Dynesys) in the revision procedures of recurrent lumbar disc herniation.Methods:18patients of recurrent lumbar disc herniation underwented operations from2011August to2013August were reviewed. There were6male and12female. Theages ranged from35to59with an average of45years old. Two operations time intervalfrom0.5to7with an average of3.3years. All of patient’s treatment of posteriordecompression, dynamic neutralization system (Dynesys) fixation. Visual analoguescale(VAS)、Oswestry disability index(ODI)and range of motion (ROM) to evaluatethe clinical effect and modified Macnab was used to assess the satisfaction of patients. Results: The VAS of the last follow-up after surgery was (0.11±0.32),the ODI was(10.00±4.35), the ROM was (4.22±1.48).The VAS、the ODI、the ROM showedsignificant differences compared with that before sugary, P<0.05. Adjacent segmentalROM showed no significant differences compared with that before sugary, P>0.05.According to the modified Macnab method at the time of the last follow-up was94.4%.Conclusions: The dynamic neutralization system revision procedures for recurrentlumbar disc herniation is feasible and effective.
