The Clinical Study On Therapeutic Effect Of Kunxian Cpsule On Active Rheumatoid Arthritis

Object To investigate the therapeutic efficacy and safty of Kun Xian Capsule(KXC)in treatment of active rheumatoid arthritis(RA).Methods A randomized controlled and prospective test method was adopted toassign the90RA patients to three groups, the three groups of patients were all treated,and were added the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), ie, LEF group (30cases, took LEF+NSAIDs), KXC group (30cases, took KXC+LEF+NSAIDs), MTXgroup (30cases, took MTX+LEF+NSAIDs). The treament courses for them all were24weeks. The DAS28, as well as the erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR), C-reactiveprotein(CRP), rheumatoid factor(RF), anti cyclic citrullinated peptide antibody(An-CCPA) were compared to prior treament, at the4thweek,8thweek,12thweek and24thweek. Simultaneously, to contast the adverse drug reactions and their side effects inprocess of three groups’ patients.Results1. From the12thweeks, the DAS28-ESR of MTX+LEF group andKXC+LEF group were superior to LEF alone group, with statistically differenc(P<0.05). In the treatment of the24thweek, the ESR and CRP of MTX+LEF group andKXC+LEF group were lower than the same period LEF group, the difference wasstatistically significant (P<0.05). But there were no difference between the MTX+LEFgroup and the KXC+LEF group.2. By the end of the4thweek, the three groups’ DAS28-ESR, ESR, CRPwere significantly lower than before treatment, with statistically differenc (P<0.05).3. After from the8thweek, the RF of three groups were significantly lowerthan before, with statistically differenc (P<0.05),but there were no difference between two of the three groups at the same period. The differences of An-CCPA between two ofthe three groups at the same period were not statistically significant (P>0.05), and thesame to each group in different timepoints compared with themself before treatment.4. In the experiments, the incidence of untoward effect of the three groupsfllowed from more to less: MTX+LEF group, KXC+LEF group, LEF group, but thedifference between the three groups was not statistically significant (P>0.05).Conclusions1. The conditions of the two combined groups were significantlyimproved than the single application LEF group. So it was still advocated combinationtherapy.2. The three treatment groups all could reduce inflammatoryindicators and improve patients’ syndrome, and were obviously improved than beforeteatment. Revealed all of them could alleviate the disease activity in active RApatients.3. Compared with the two combined groups, the incidence of adversedrug reactions in KXC+LEF group was less than MTX+LEF group. So if the adverse ofMTX was too large, or together with interstitial pulmonary fibrosis, or could not toleratewhile taking MTX+LEF, to use KXC+LEF may be considered to instead of MTX+LEF.
