Objective To examine the serum levels of interleukin(IL)-17,Transforminggrowth factor (TGF-β) and the proportion of peripheral of Thl7cells and Treg cells inpatients with Autoimmune Liver Disease (AILD), and to discuss the role of Th17andTreg cells in the pathogenesis of AILD. Method Flow cytometric assay were usedto analyse the percentages of Th17and Treg cells in46cases of AILD patients,28patients with autoimmune hepatitis (AIH),18cases of patients with primary biliarycirrhosis (PBC)and20normal controls. The levels of IL-17and TGF-β in plasmawere measured by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA). Measured data wereanalyzed by using the statistical software SPSS19.0. Results The percentages ofTh17cells in patients with AIH PBC was significantly higher than that of normalcontrols(P<0.01)and the Treg percentages decreased obviously(P<0.05). Theserum levels of IL-17were higher than controls(P<0.05), serum concentrations ofTGF-β is lower than controls (P<0.01). Conclusion Th17and Treg cells may playan important role in the pathogenesis of AILD,which is one of probably caused bythe body’s immune system to balance the tendency of proinflammatory direction. Theexamination of Th17/Treg cells can be used in the survey of disease state and curativeeffect of AILD.IL-17and TGF-β is related to AILD.The combination can raise thesensitivity in the diagnosis of AILD.
