Objective:This paper is intended to find out epidemic literature of the end-stage renal hemodialysis patients and provide statistic support to standard clinical treatment and steady quality improvement by surveying the incidence, etiology, vascular access, common complications and cause of death of the new hemodialysis patients in Shanxi Province during January2010and December2013.Methods:8108chronic renal failure(CRF) patients starting their first-time dialysis in Shanxi province during January2010and December2013were surveyed. Their case data were registered in Chinese national renal data system. All related data were collected by Chinese national renal data system.Results:①In Shanxi province, the number of hemodialysis patients was increasing annually. The incidence rate between2010and2013was46.62,53.44,62.61,62.93pmp, respectively. The annual incidence of male to female ratio was1.22:1,1.28:1,1.29:1,1.41:1, respectively, gap increased gradually.②The first three primary causes of CRF in incident hemodialysis patients were glomerulonephritis, diabetic nephropathy, and hypertensive nephrosclcrosis. The highest of which was glomerulonephritis, accounted for56.4%of all causes. The incidence of diabetic nephropathy and hypertensive nephrosclcrosis was increasing with years.③The first vascular access in CRF patients at the beginning of hemodialysis was temporary central venous catheter(53.3%), and then primary arteriovenous fistula(41.2%).④Anemia was the most commom complications of incident hemodialysis patients, followed by high blood pressure, bone and mineral disorder, etc. The treatment success rate of renal anemia and bone mineral metabolism disorder was low, less than50%.⑤Cardiovascular and cerebrovascular incidences were the leading cause of death.⑥Patients with end-stage renal disease(ESRD) were between the ages of40to49and between50to59.Conclusion:In Shanxi province, the number of hemodialysis patients was increasing annually. The primary causes of ESRD with hemodialysis were chronic glomerulonephritis, diabetic nephropathy and hypertensive nephrosclcrosis. The incidence of diabetic nephropathy and hypertensive nephrosclcrosis was increasing with years. The major vascular access of CRF patients at the beginning of hemodialysis was temporary central venous catheter, which suggested that timely hemodialysis needs attention and improvement. The treatment success rate of renal anemia and bone mineral metabolism disorder was low. Cardiovascular and cerebrovascular incidences were the leading cause of death in patients receiving hemodialysis.
