[Abstract] Objective Through the comparative study of carbon nanoparticles suspension in patients with thyroid cancer operation as lymphatic tracer on parathyroid protection, further clarify the application value of carbon nanoparticles suspension in the clinical aspects, reduced the incidence of hypothyroidism among thyroid cancer patients after operation, to improve their quality of life. Methods Through the prospective study of patients with throid cancer in breast and thyroid surgery of Shandong province hospital from2012may to2013docember,108cases of application of carbon nanoparticles suspention in operation and76cases with routine operation. The former through the multi point injection of carbon nanoparticles suspension in operation,making the developing of thyroid and lymph nodes around,and the latter with routine operation. Then we determined the level of parathyroid hormone and serum calcium in the blood on third day morning after their operation,respevtively statistic the number of normal, low parathyroid hormone and calcium in patients in the two groups.then we analysed of whether there is a statistically significant difference between the two groups. Results The patients have no allergy discomfort after the injection of nanoparticles suspension, the thyroid and lymph node all developing In ten seconds to several minutes. After the operation the blood calcium level was normal in70cases who were injected the carbon nanoparticles suspension in operation, In contrast, the blood calcium level was normal in78cases with routine operation(x2=11.2, p<0.005,v=1), there was statistically significant difference between two groups. After the operation the blood PTH level was normal in69cases who were injected the carbon nanoparticles suspension in operation, In contrast, the blood PTH level was normal in72cases with routine operation(x2=14.5, p<0.005,v=1), there was statistically significant difference between two groups. Conclusion The carbon nanoparticles suspension can make the thyroid and lymph node developing safely and fast, while the parathyroid is not developing.The incidence of hypothyroidism among thyroid cancer patients after operation was Significantly reduced with carbon nanoparticles suspension, It has high value in clinical application.
