ObjectDescribe the clinical features of the non-functional adenoma and adrenocortical hyperplasia, and evaluate the outcome of surgical therapy.MethodsThis study is a prospective case series of patients undergoing surgical intervention for adrenal mass within the Shandong Province Hospital.110non-functional adenoma and adrenocortical hyperplasia cases were collected from June2002to December2013. Through analyzing the clinical features, especially combing hypertension, we can get more information of this adrenal mass. Via the comprehension of preoperational blood pressured and post-operational, improvement of clinical symptoms, to discover the factors affected outcome of surgical therapy and preoperational index to evaluation of the outcome. Comparing clinical features of the non-functional adrenal mass and typical adrenal mass with primary hyperaldosteronism, the differences of two clinical types may be well defined.ResultsOut of110cases, there were48males and42females. It showed no statistically significant the clinical features of73subjects combining hypertension compared with the non-clinical ones, such as age, sex, and, medical history. During the average14mouth follow-up, despite a case combing the decreasing of glucocorticoids, there are no complications. The statistical analysis revealed that the three factors including age, duration of hypertension symptoms and pathological type may affect the prognosis of hypertension with surgical therapy. The affect of the factors on the prognosis of hypertension such as gender, age, side of the mass, may have no statistical difference. Comparing149subject of primary hyperaldosteronism, the clinical characteristics of study group combing hypertension showed no differences, while the recovery rates were lower(P<0.05).ConclusionMost cases of non-functional adenoma and adrenocortical hyperplasia combining with hypertension, which need surgical therapy, may have depressions of blood pressure and the improvement of the quality of life, although the lower recovery rates contrasted with the primary hyperaldosteronism。...
