Objective The aim of the study was to assess the usefulness of the FC measurement in newborn with various periods of neonatal necrotizing enterocolitis(NEC).Methods Choose the neonatal from december in2011to december in2013in our hospital, comprehensive analysis combined with systemic symptom, gastrointestinal symptoms, laboratory tests, imaging examination results, according to the revised BELL staging criteria for diagnosis. Children can be divided into:24cases in NEC I period group (group A),8cases in NEC II (group B), and6cases in NEC Ⅲ period (group C).Select30cases of normal newborns at the same health check-up for the control group (group D).FC was detection by enzyme-linked immuno sorbent assay method, various types of NEC and relation to the disease activity. Results The concentration of faecal calprotectin in Neonatal necrotizing enterocolitis, Ⅰ Ⅱand Ⅲwere495ug/g[273.75-812.50],1650ug/g [1032.5-2792.5],3286ug/g [1530-3731.25] respective, while the concentration of faecal calprotectin129ug/g [995.75-173.25] in health neonatal. The result display faecal calprotectin concentrations were seriously higher in newborn with necrotizing enterocolitis as compared to healthy controls(P<0.05). A positive correlation was observed between FC concentrations and the disease activity. Conclusion The fecal calprotectin concentrations can be a useful, safe, and noninvasive test.lt seems that the fecal calprotectin concentrations can reminder early diagnosis and the severity in newborn with NEC.
