Virtual Surgery plays a more and more important role in modern medicine. A typical virtual surgery system contains model reconstruction, meshing, deformation computation, cutting, realistic rendering and other parts. It is a comprehensive research topic which blends biological medicine, machinery, materials science, computer graphics, robotics and many other disciplines. In the virtual surgery system, meshing is a difficulty in the early soft tissue model processing. It requires us to conduct mesh construction to the geometric model. And on this basis the later deformation calculation and cutting are able to carry on smoothly. Deformation calculation and cutting are the key steps for stimulating surgical operation. In this paper, the key technologies are researched in the meshing, deformation calculation and cutting. In meshing phase, three-dimensional Delaunay mesh generation algorithm is adopted and the result has the very strong adaptability. In deformation calculation phase, the commonly used methods for deformation calculation are compared and the condensation of mixed finite element model is choosed to calculate the deformation of soft tissue. This model can effectively simulate the operation of mesh deformation. In model-cutting stage, Smoothing-based Minimal Sets Cutting method adjusting the positions of the cutting intersections and adjacent elements is proposed. Smoothing criteria is used to smooth to improve the quality of the mesh after cutting on the basis of rapid cutting. It provides convenience for subsequent operations such as deformation. Finally, the follow-up research parts are proposed in this paper.
