Objective: Breast cancer is a highly heterogeneous malignant tumor, based on geneexpression profiles of different is divided into distinct molecular subtypes, and have their ownbiological behavior and treatment of different sensitivity, this paper will explore the moleculartyping in the adjuvant treatment of signi-ficance and the limitation of scheme selection andevaluation of prognosis of breast cancer, the feasibility of individualized chemotherapy studyon molecular typing based selection.Methods: Retrospectively analyze the clinical pathologic characteristics of496breastcancer patients who were treated with adjuvant chemotherapy in our de-partment fromJanuary2007to December2010. Study The relationship between the molecular classificationand clinicopathological factors in breast carcinoma by application of Spearman correlationanalysis. Explore the molecular subtyp-es’ significance and limitations in treatment selectionand evaluation of progno-stic.Results: In all476patients,421cases can determine the molecular typing, Luminal Asubtype accounted for32.8%, Luminal B1subtype27.3%, Luminal B2subtype10.4%,HER-2over-expression subtype11.4%and triple negative subtype19.2%. Molecular subtypes ofbreast cancer has no correlation with tumor size, lymph node metastasis and the age of onset.Molecular subtypes was correlated with clinical staging (P<0.05). Molecular subtypes wascorrelated with grading of recurrence risk, organization (P<0.05). Risk stratification forpatients with moderate risk of recurrence group, have effect of molecular typing and intensityof chemotherapy options.Conclusion: Molecular typing of breast cancer have effect and influence on prognosis and adjuvant therapy. But its effect and influence have limitations, cannot completely take theplace of recurrence risk factors of prognosis.
