Objective:To investigate the clinical and pathological characteristics ofprimary sjogrensyndrome (primary sjogrensyndrome, pSS) combinedwith kidney damage.Methods:Selected40patients who were diagnosed with pSS complicatedwith kidney damage in Second Hospital of Jilin University duringJanuary2009-July2013,and retrospective analyzed the clinical andpathological characteristics. Results:The average age of the patients was52.15years old(18-78), ofwhich39cases (97.5%) were female, only1case (2.5%) was male. Ofwhich22cases (55%) had the symptom of xerostomia,and20cases hadthe symptom of dry eyes. In all patients,35cases (87.5%) showed therenal tubular injury,25cases (62.5%) showed glomerular injury,5cases(12.5%) presented with nephrotic syndrome,and11cases (27.5%) had mild renal failure.38cases (95%) presented anti SS-A increased,21cases (52.5%) presented anti SS-B increased,20cases (50%) presentedanti SS-A and anti SS-B increased, and only1cases (2.5%) presentedanti SS-A, anti SS-B and negative.23cases (46%) appeared rheumatoidfactor increased,8cases (20%) appeared CRP increased,8cases (20%)appeared anticentromere antibodies posetive, and20cases (50%)appeared IgG increased.8patients underwent renal biopsy,4cases (50%)showed membranous nephropathy,1cases (12.5%) showed IgAnephropathy combined with renal arteriolar sclerosis,2cases (25%)showed chronic tubulointerstitial lesions,1cases (12.5%) showedglomerular minor lesion, and all of the8cases had segmental or diffusehyperplasia of glomerular mesangial cells. Conclusions:pSS was prone to have kidney damage, renal tubular damage wascommon, the kidney biopsy was helpful to clinical diagnosis and guidingtreatments.
