Goal:evaluate the clinical efficacy for treatment of active-stage Rheumatoid Arthritis by applying traditional Chinese medicine fumigation measure.Method:randomly separate68patients with active-stage Rheumatoid Arthritis into fumigation group and non-fumigation group,34patients in each group; two groups apply methotrexate, leflunomide, tripterygium glycosides, diclofenac sodium and intravenous injection Tc-MDP. Based on above measure, fumigation group applies traditional Chinese medicine fumigation once in15days (one treatment course) for consecutively three treatment courses, but the treatment course interval of15days shall be reserved; observe the change of patients in pre-treatment post-treatment, physical sign and inflammatory indicators and evaluate the clinical efficacy of two groups through DAS28and VAS scoring methods.Result:fall-out phenomenon occurs to6patients among68patients under test,2in fumigation group and4in non-fumigation group; symptoms and partial inflammatory indicators in fumigation group improves significantly over non-fumigation group. The arthralgia number. arthrocele number, morning stiffness time and blood platelet result in two groups is significantly different in terms of statistics (P<0.05); although erythrocyte sedimentation rate, C-reaction protein and rheumatoid factor decreases to a certain extent, no big difference occurs (P>0.05); according to comparison of two groups after treatment by applying DAS28scoring method, no significant difference exists in fumigation group and non-fumigation group (P>0.05), and according to comparison of two groups after treatment by applying VAS scoring method. fumigation group is superior to non-fumigation group and significant difference exists (P<0.05); fumigation treatment has little adverse reaction.Conclusion:1. Traditional Chinese medicine fumigation therapy is able to improve the clinical symptoms and physical signs of active-stage Rheumatoid Arthritis.2. Traditional Chinese medicine fumigation therapy may have some effects on inflammatory indicators of active-stage Rheumatoid Arthritis.3. Traditional Chinese medicine fumigation therapy treats active-stage Rheumatoid Arthritis in a safe way.
