objective:To investigate biomechanical features of dynamic hip screw(DHS) with asingle cannulated compression screws(CCS) versus three CCS in treatment of carotidfemoral neck fracture, and compare their advantages and disadvantages. Methods:The artificial femur was cut with a electric chainsaw according to pauwels70°and pauwels30°of human carotid femoral neck fracture to simulate the carotidfemoral neck fracture.DHS with a single CCS and three CCS(the inverted triangle)wereimplanted into the fractured femurs to establish carotid femoral neck fracture fixationmodels, which were tested and proved by means of experiment press analysis.Result: From the femoral strength, stiffness and stability, bearing capacitytest,anti-torion results show that the biomechanical function of DHS with a single CCSwas better than that of three CCS in treating carotid femur neck fracture(P<0.05).Conclusion:The treatment of the carotid femur neck fractures with DHS with a singleCCS and three CCS internal fixation, DHS with a single CCS fixed more firm, biomechanics superior performance,is an ideal fracture internal fixation method totreatment of the carotid femur neck fractures, especially suitable for the unstable carotidfractures of femoral neck.
