Objective:To investigate the the treatment to control pulmonary infection of cervicalspinal cord injury patients. Methods:We formulated and implemented the new treatment to control pulmonaryinfection of cervical spinal cord injury patients from2010October,we chosedcases from2008August to2012October,A total of442cases of Cervicalspinal cord injury patients, including140cases of lung infection in theChina–Japan union hospital of Jilin Univercity, the latter was divided intointervention(Group A from2008August to2010October70cases) andcontrol group(Group B from2010October to2012October70case). Theoccurrence of tracheotomy、control time of pulmonary infect-ion、mortalityamong the two group cases was compared. Results:The demographics of the rate of tracheotomy、the control time of pulmonary i-nfection、mortality are in table2. the rate of tracheotomy and the mortality wereno significant between in both groups. The average control time of pulmonaryinfection is28.46+/—11.33for Group A,the average is21.99+/—8.13forGroup B,the afore-mentioned difference have statistical sense(T=3.87,P<0.05). Conclusion:The treatment of Group B has no impact on lowering patients mortality a-nd the rate of tracheotomy compared with Group A, its clinical implication canreduce the the control time of pulmonary infection.
