Object:Present research about methyl iodide at home and abroad isinsufficient,In particular, the domestic research focuses on the analysis of clinicalcases of methyl iodide, but less research in toxicology. The experiment on rats liverdamage after exposed methyl iodide to study the toxic effect of methyl iodide on theliver, and to provide evidence for the protection of contact with methyl iodide in thefuture work of the workers. Methods:The rats were treated with methyl iodide in theexperimental study by the static exposure.Serum and liver tissue are extract at theend of experiment. Determination of the liver pathology and related proteindetection and key enzymes in serum, to observe the changes of above indexes, and tostudy the toxic effect of methyl iodide on rat liver. The indicators selected for serumtotal protein (TP), serum albumin (ALB), serum globulin (GLO), serum totalbilirubin (TBIL), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST),alkaline phosphatase (AKP), cholinesterase (CHE), glutathione-S transferase (GST),gamma glutamyl transpeptidase (γ-GT) and superoxide dismutase (SOD).Results:The methyl iodide in rats exposed to find that,in pathological study alongwith the increasing dose of rat liver cells appeared, the more the swellingdegeneration, intuitively shows the toxicity and degree of methyl iodide on the liver. And with the increase of methyl iodide concentration in rats exposed, the content ofserum total protein and serum albumin decreased gradually, and there was significantdifference between the experimental group and the control group (P <0.05), serumglobulin did not show significant difference (P>0.05).It means the liver syntheticfunction on rats produced a certain impact damage. Serum total bilirubin was notsignificantly changed (P>0.05), the toxic effect of methyl iodide on rat liver did notproduce cholestatic disease. From determined by enzyme selected on experimentalindex, after methyl iodide into the body of rats,SOD and CHE reduced graduallywith the increase of concentration of methyl iodide, the difference was statistically significant(P>0.05).GST, ALT, AST, AKP, γ-GT gradually increased with theincrease of concentration of methyl iodide, and the difference was statisticallysignificant(P>0.05).The methyl iodide may have toxic effect on rat liver, causeliver cell rupture, degeneration, the concentration of liver enzymes and by liver cellsynthesis of the enzyme showed different degrees of change. Conclusions:Ratsexposed to the methyl iodide inferred the iodide has certain effect on liver injury. The possible performance first is the impact of the liver itself synthetic protein andenzyme function, make function weakened; second is the destruction of theparenchymal cells of the liver, the liver intracellular enzyme release into the blood. But not happen the biliary obstruction and cholestatic liver disease in short time.
