Objective: To investigate the clinical features of familial nonmedullary thyroidcarcinoma(FNMTC),in order to provide basis for early diagnosis and treatment. Methods: We investigate the patients between2006and2013,78patients from31familieswere found. And the data of sporadic nonmedullary thyroid cancer(SNMTC) patients for thesame period were prospective analyzed compared with78FNMTC patients. Results: There were3445sporadic NMTC patients and78FNMTC patients.①The averageage of FNMTC and sporadic patients are43.1±10.57(18-73)and44.2±10.64(12-85), Ages atdisease presentation between FNMTC and SNMTC. aren’t statistically significant(P>0.05);②Male and female ratio of those patients are1:4.2and1:4.6,gender ratio between two groups hasnot significant differences(P>0.05);③Tumor diameters of two groups aren’t statisticallysignificant(P>0.05).④71.8%of FNMTC(56/78) and46.3%(1595/3445) of SNMTC weremultimodality,FNMTC are easier to be multifocal(P<0.05);⑤64.1%(50/78) of FNMTC and48.5%(1670/3445)of SNMTC have adhesion to or invasion of the surrounding,FNMTC are moreadhensive(P<0.05);⑥52.6%(41/78)of FNMTC and33.3%(1148/3445) of SNMTC had necklymph node metastas, patients of FNMTC are more likely to have lymph node metastasis thanthose of SNMTC(P<0.05);⑦The conditions of Combined with chronic thyroiditis of twogroups are30.8%(24/78) and20.0%(689/3445), Patients of FNMTC are more likely combinedwith Chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis(P<0.05).⑧Neck node metastasis of the Ⅵ area correlateswith lateral cervical region in both FNMTC and SNMTC.(P<0.05)Conclusion:1.Patients of FNMTC are more likely to have lymph node metastasis than those of SNMTC,patients of FNMTC should routinely take central lymph node dissection.2.We should relax the indications for bilateral total thyroidectomy since patients of FNMTCare more likely to be multimodality.3.Patients of FNMTC have more have adhesion to or invasion of the surrounding than the sporadic patients,we need to increase the surgical scope.4.Patients of FNMTC are more likely combined with Chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis.5. When more than three metastasized lymph nodes was found in Ⅵ area, ipsilateral lateralcervical lymph node metastasis rate increased significantly. At this time Lateral lymph nodedissection should be taken.
