Research Of The Tongue Picture And Its Correlation With Clinical Chracteristics Of Ankylosing Spondylitis

Objective Discuss the tongue picture of ankylosing spondylitis, its correlation with the clinical characteristics of ankylosing spondylitis (AS) and the significance of the results, so as to provide new thinking about the clinical diagnosis and treatment of AS.Methods First, sort out the clinical researches of fissured tongue in recent10years; second, take picture of119AS patients’ tongue and collect their clinical characteristics; third, calculate the length, width and distribution data of the tongue pictures with longitudinal fissure through data programming; forth, analyse the data by use of Excel and SPSS statistical analysis software.Results AS patients’ main tongue color is light red (83.19%), and red (8.40%) in the second place; main pathological tongue shape is fissured tongue (68.91%), teeth-printed tongue (63.87%) and red dot tongue (51.26%); main tongue coating is thin white coating (57.98%), and greasy coating (26.89%) in the second place. The percentage of deficiency syndrome patients’ fissured tougue, teeth-printed tongue and red dot tongue was significantly higher than those with excess syndrome. Fissured tongue is an important feature to differentiate with the tongue picture of AS with other diseases. The fissure mainly is longitudinal (79.27%) and distributed in the root of the tongue (40.24%). Patients whose first pain position was in the sacroiliac mostly had the widest fissure in the root of the tongue. While the first pain postion was in the thoracic vertebra, the widest fissure was mainly in the middle of the tongue. Patients with fissure shaped "I" mostly felt pain in the axial joints. Patients with fissure shaped "米" mostly felt pain in peripheral joints. The longer the fissure was, the longer the course of the disease lasts and the longer the distance betwwen the fingertips and floor and the head and the wall.Conclusion Ankylosing spondylitis patients’main tongue color is light red, main tongue coating is thin white coating, and main pathological tongue shape is fissured tongue, teeth-printed tongue and red dot tongue. The occurrence of fissured tongue, teeth-printed tongue and red dot tongue largely indicates that ankylosing spondylitis turns from excessive pathogen to deficiency. Fissured tongue is an important feature to differentiate with the tongue picture of other diseases. The position and shape of fissure largely indicate the pathological position of AS. The length of fissure largely indicates the seriousness of AS.
