Objective: To evaluate the accuracy and reproducibility of256iCTimaging for quantifying the right ventricular.Methods:1、Six freshly vitro porcine hearts were injected with thecontrast agent in the right ventricular. Right ventricular volume data wereobtained with automatic calculating the volume、semi-automatic calculatingthe volume and manual outlines sketched technology calculating the volumeby using256-slice CT.2、60cases of256-slice spiral coronary CTangiography were prospectively selected,30males and30females,from22to78years, with a mean age of51.3±9.34years.Using cardiac function softwaremeasured the right ventricular end-systolic volume (ESV), end-diastolicvolume (EDV),ejection fraction (EF) and cardiac output (CO).Differentobservers in two different times measured the parameters for evaluating theinter-observer reproducibility.Results:1、The right ventricular result of the vitro model indicates, there were good correlation and no significant difference between the threeresults of automatic calculating、semi-automatic calculating and manualoutlines sketched technology calculating, and the actual volume. but the bestcorrelation was between the automated method and the real volume(r=0.992).2、The CT parameters of right ventricle were no significant difference betweenthe results of the two different observers (P>0.05).Conclusion:256-slice coronary CT angiography shows highreproducibility and objectivity in measuring the right ventricular parameters. Objective: To investigate the correlation between right ventricularfunction parameters and gender in normal subjects by256iCT.Methods:200cases of256-slice spiral coronary CT angiography wereprospectively selected,100males and100females,from26to78years, with amean age of52.3±10.23years.all patients meet inclusion criteria.Usingcardiac function software measured the right ventricular end-systolic volume(ESV), end-diastolic volume (EDV), ejection fraction(EF) and cardiac output(CO), then Left and right ventricular end-diastolic volume ratio(RVEDV/LVEDV) and the left and right ventricular systolic volume ratio(RVESV/LVESV) were calculated. To analyze the differentiation in the CTparameters of right ventricle between males and females. Results: Before and after body surface area standardization combinedwith patients height and weight, there were significantly differences betweengender in RVEDV, RVESV, EF, RVEDV/LVEDV and RVESV/LVESV(P<0.05),the CT parameters related right ventricle in males are larger than thosein females except EF, in however no significant differences were found in CObetween males and females(P>0.05).Conclusions:256-slice MSCT can objectively measure the right ventricular structureand function parameters. The normal CT parameters reference values therelated right ventricular were proposed, which plays an important role inclinical diagnosis and treatment in the right ventricle related diseases. Objective: To investigate the correlation between right ventricularfunction parameters and age in normal subjects by256iCT.Methods:200cases of256-slice spiral coronary CT angiography wereprospectively selected,100males and100females,from26to78years, with amean age of52.3±10.23years.all patients meet inclusion criteria.Usingcardiac function software measured the right and left ventricular end-systolicvolume(ESV),end-diastolic volume (EDV), ejection fraction(EF) and cardiacoutput(CO),then Left and right parameter ratio were calculated. To evaluatethe correlation of the CT parameters of right ventricle with age. Results:The LV、RV volumes and EF showed significant differenceamong age-groups(P<0.05),whereas no significant differences were foundfor SV and CO (P>0.05).Measured volumes declined with age,Smallincreases in EF with age were seen。The95%medical reference ranges (95%CIs)of RVESV、RVESV and RVEF were calculated for the overall group, for4age group(s<40、40-49、50-59、≥60),RVESV95%CI were43.43-127.68ml,43.05-122.53ml,33.63-101.62ml,30.38-104.87ml;RVEDV95%CI were103.41-227.40ml,106.86-233.16ml,101.70-199.52ml,94.76-202.81ml; RVESV95%CI were23.87-70.93%,37.07-64.47%,42.92-67.11%,42.26-67.76%respectively. The normal Leftand right ESV and EDV ratio are1.55±0.47and1.08±0.11.Conclusion:256-slice MSCT can objectively measure the rightventricular structure and function parameters. This study establishedage-specific values mean values and95%CIs for RV and LV size and EF by256iCT,which plays an important role in clinical diagnosis and treatment inthe right ventricle related diseases.
