Objective:To explore whether there is a change of the plasticity in the hand and surface area on the motor cortex after excision of The hand area(Hoku area)of rhesus and the effect of acupuncture on the plasticity in the hand and surface area on the motor cortex.Methods:A total of2Rhesus Monkeys were randomly divided into healing disposal and acupuncture treatment, put Rhesus Monkeys in large animal stereotaxic apparatus with prone position. Under aseptic condition, underwent craniotomy in the anterior fontanelle former lcm, left/right next to the open3cm,at this center to drill a1.5*1.5cm2square bone window, exposed brain and see the central sulcus and gyrus precentralis.By using self-made silver ball electrode stimulation of the motor cortex and the16conductive physiological recorder to record the EMG to determine the hand area in motor cortex,excision the motor cortex which dominate hand area muscle, after the wound healing disposal or acupuncture treatment3month. Choose the Hua Tuo brand disposable sterile acupuncture needles (specification:0.30*25mm, Suzhou medical equipment factory production) into Rhesus Monkey motor cortex hand resection on side Hegu and thenar point, depth of15mm, acupuncture and acupoint skin was90. With the Korean, electro acupuncture apparatus (HANS-200A, Nanjing Jisheng Medical Technology Co., Ltd.) for EA, select the amplitude of stimulation waveform. Once every other day, every time20minutes.To observe the functional compensation situation in hand/surface area of the motor cortex and the acupuncture effect.Results:1.After three months of the excision of motor cortex which dominate hand area, stimulated surface area which intersecte hand area can induce contralateral thumb and index finger mild movement, the main manifestation is thumb abduction or thumb and index finger fibrillation, the stimulus intensity was significantly higher than that before the resection area induced thumb and index finger movement, and the facial movement was more obviously.2.The Rhesus Monkey motor cortex plasticity changes which with Acupuncture treatment was slightly larger than the natural recovery one.Conclusion:1.the injury of motor cortex dominate Hegu can lead to the surface area invade to the hand area, the plasticity is progressive, and has a obviously tendency, it means that hand and orofacial has a plasticity change. 2.Acupuncture may have a certain effect on the plasticity in the hand and surface area on the motor cortex.
