| Background: Coronary heart disease(CHD) has seriously harmed the humanhealth. Recent researches show that inflammatory reaction plays a important role in theforming and development of atherosclerosis, with various inflammatory factors andmacrophage. One of the inflammatory factor being studied hotly isPAPP-A(pregnancy-associated plasma protein-A). It is founded that PAPP-A has asignificant role in VP(vulnerable plaque)forming and developing, and it is VP thatdirectly induces ACS(acute coronary syndrome). So there are a lot of studies on therelationship between PAPP-A and ACS.Objective: Through studies on the structure and function of PAPP-A and IGFaxis, we discuss the relationship between PAPP-A and atherosclerosis, and make furtherclinical researches on PAPP-A application value in diagnosis,therapy and prognosisevaluation of CHD.Methods: Retrieve the literatures and summarize the progress in recent yearsrelating to the structure and function of PAPP-A, the relationship between the level ofPAPP-A and vulnerable plague and the relationship between the level of PAPP-A andCHD in Wanfang,Weipu and Pubmed database.Results: PAPP-A is one member of metalloproteinase family, and can directlyerode the plaque, inducing more thin-cap fibroatheromas and plaque ruptures; at theother side, PAPP-A enhances inflammatory reaction through IGF axis and indirectlydecrease plaque stability. PAPP-A is valuable in prediciting major adverse cardiaceventsã€classifying risk of CHD and predicting the risk of no-reflow after PCI.And it isfounded that PAPP-A sã€CD40L and CRP participate formation of VP together. Conclusion: PAPP-A has a significant role in atherosclerosis forming anddeveloping, especially in VP. PAPP-A has some certain clinical value in diagnosis,therapy and prognosis evaluation of CHD. |
