Objective:.Observe and analyze the thickness of total cornea and cornealepithelium of Chinese emmetropic population of different ages,we can also analyzethe characters of corneal epithelium and probe regular pattern.Methods:Transverse section study. We can collected population who wereexamined from August to Noveber in2012in ShanDong Eye Hospital.There were305eyes in our study and their reviews must be emmetropic.We can put them to threegroups:0~14yeas,15~64years,and over65years.We can use the pachymetrysoftware of fourier domain optical coherence tomography,FD-OCT to examine all ofthe considerers.At last, we can describe the graph of all the population’s thickness ofcentral cornea and central epithelium in6mm area.At the same time,we can observeevery ring area of cornea who was splitted to central2mm,2-5mm,and5-6mm.So,wecan obtain the three area’s mean total cornea and corneal epithelium and thethickness of each locus.Based on this,we can take the characters and distrbusion oftotal cornea and corneal epithelium.We can take SPSS18.0stastic analysis software to stastics the subjects’s genderand right or left eyes in r2-test,we use ANOA to compare the thickness total corneaand corneal epithelium of corneal central6mm,the thinnest locus,the characters of cornea’s ring area and radiate area in the three ages, we can use excessive independentsamples nonparametric tests to compare the superior, inferior, Max,Min, Std-Devand Max-Min,the difference we can compare.Last,we can use Pearson correlationanalyse the correlation between central cornea and corneal epithelium.Results:(1) the thickness of cornea in each ages:0~14years is thicker than15~64year and over65years.(2) the thickness of corneal epithelium in each ages:over65years is thinner than0~14years and15~64years.(3)three different ringareas’ total cornea and corneal epithelium:for cornea thickness in each agegroup,from central2mm、2-5mm to5-6mm gradually grow, for corneal epitheliumthickness in15~64years group,from central2mm、2-5mm to5-6mm graduallydown.(4) seventeen different radiate areas’total cornea and corneal epithelium: forcornea thickness in each age group,①the thickness of2-5mm cornea: superior nasalis thickest and inferior temporal thinnest(P=0.026,0.000,0.001) in each group;②thethickness of5-6mm cornea: superior nasal is thickest and inferior temporalthinnest(P=0.005,0.000,0.000) in each group;③the thickness of2-5mm cornealepithelium: inferior nasal is thickest and superior temporal thinnest(P=0.011,0.001,0.000) in each group;④the thickness of5-6mm corneal epithelium: inferior nasal isthickest and superior temporal thinnest(P=0.000,0.000,0.005) in each group.2)thecornea and corneal epitheliun’s difference in each group:①Central2mm corneathickness:over65years is thinner than other groups(P=0.006,0.007).②Central2mmcorneal epithelium thickness: over65years is thinner than15~64years(P=0.003);③Central2-5mm cornea thickness:in nasal,temporal, nasal inferior,temporal inferior, inferior, over65years is thinner than other groups(P<0.5);④Central5-6mm cornea thickness: In nasal,temporal, nasal inferior, temporalinferior, inferior, over65years is thinner than0~14years group;⑤Central2-5mmcorneal epithelium thickness: In nasal,temporal, nasal inferior, nasalsuperior,superior, temporal superior over65years is thinner than else.⑥Central5-6mm corneal epithelium thickness: In nasal,temporal, nasal inferior, nasalsuperior,superior, temporal superior, inferior over65years is thinner than else;(5)the thinnest locus of total cornea and corneal epithelium:we can use “Location Y”to indicate the thinnest locus of total cornea and corneal epithelium especially verticallocus,it ‘s scope is (—3.00,+3.00), the Location Y of each group is0~14years:(—0.201±0.696,—0.293±0.481),15~64years:(0.218±0.637,—0.350±0.555),over65years:(0.357±0.799,—0.322±0.443),there is no difference in them.(6)The corneal central2-5mm,the D-value(SN-IT) between nasal superior(SN)and temporal inferior(IT), The corneal central2-5mm:the change of theD-value(S-I)between superio(rS)and inferio(rI)followed by ages.1)corneal central2-5mm the D-value(SN-IT) between nasal superior(SN)and temporal inferior(IT)followed by ages:over65years is thicker than0~14years,the distribution ofcornea is asymmetry.2)The corneal central2-5mm:the change of the D-value(S-I)between superior(S)and inferior(I)followed by ages:0~14years is smaller thanelse(P=0.020,0.032,0.030).(7)the relationship between cornea and coenealepithelium in corneal central6mm: Last,we can use Pearson correlation analyse thecorrelation between central cornea and corneal epithelium.We conclude the Pearson coefficient is0.106,0.084,0.094,P=0.488,0.218,0.614,so we can see central cornea and corneal epithelium have no relationship in eachgroup.(8)superio(rS)and inferio(rI)Max, Min, Std-Dev, Max-Min:we can indicatethe difference in them,and we find that the superior is become more and more thinerfollow by ages.Conclusion: This study can provide the thickness of Chinese emmetropicpopulation’s total cornea and corneal epithelium and the thickness of each locus,weconclude that the thickness of total cornea in0~14yeas is thicker than othergroup,and corneal epithelium thickness is thinner than oher groups in over65years.Follow by the growing ages,the corneal epithelium aggravate uniformity. This cangive us reference on refraction surgey and some corneal disease diagnosis.
