| Objective:To assess the quality of one Hunan city’s reporting to National System of Basic Information Collection and Analysis for Psychoses, to learn the basic situation of the institutions and staff responsible for reporting, to explore the relevant factors influencing the quality of reporting, and to propose suggestions and countermeasures.Methods:Four hundred and seventy six cases were identified under the sampling proportion of5%. Multistage proportional random sampling methods were adopted to identify District A in the urban area of the city and County B and county-level City C in the rural area. At Stage Two, according to the case-allocation proportions determined by the number of reported cases of each region,138cases were identified in District A,236in County B and102in City C. At Stage Three,13and11institutions responsible for reporting were selected respectively in the urban and rural areas. In accordance with the ratio of the number of reported cases from each institution, cases were randomly selected from the system for in-house information verification. Investigations were conducted on all of the institutions and staff responsible for reporting in the three regions.Results:Among the476selected patients,93(19.7%) people could not be found because of inaccurate addresses and contact information,12(2.5%) had disappeared, with the follow-up compliance rate of38.9%. The rate of accurately reporting was52.8%, the completion rate was83.0%, the rate of accurately filling was61.4%, and the rate of accurately inputting was80.6%. There was gap between rural and urban areas on reporting and filling accuracy. All reporting institutions were equipped with full-time or part-time reporter, and49(90.7%) developed work mechanism or procedures for the management and intervention for psychoses;53(98.1%) units met the requirements for web-based reporting,39(72.2%) were equipped with data-quality-control staff,5(9.3%) assigned funding for the reporters.In terms of the reporters,47(87.0%) had college or below education,50(92.6%) had junior or below professional ranks. As for their incomes,36(66.7%) had annual incomes below20,000yuan,30(55.5%) worked on management and intervention for psychoses for less than one year. The job satisfaction rate was40.8%.Conclusion:In the studied city, patients reported to National System of Basic Information Collection and Analysis for Psychoses were not effectively managed, with a low follow-up compliance rate. The rates of reporting accuracy, filling completion, filling accuracy, input accuracy were52.8%,83.0%,61.4%,80.6%respectively.The urban area had better reporting and filling accuracy than its rural area. Institutions responsible for reporting had deficiencies in data-quality-control staff and related funding allocation. The reporters had relatively low academic degrees and professional ranks, high mobility, and low job satisfaction. |
