Objective:This retrospective study aims to explore the prognostic factors of thetraumatic brain injury in children.Methods:173children with traumatic brain injury admitted to our hospitalbetween January2012to January2013. At admitted day, the patients mustfinished Glasgow Coma Scale score and CT scan, meanwhile, the blood gasanalysis and coagulation functions were measured and collected. Outcomewas measured with the Glasgow Outcome Scale at hospital discharge. Results:Of the173patients, when divided by the GCS and GOS, there is nodifference of the age, sex, weight, Mg2+, K+, BPC and TT. Patients withlow GOS which means bad outcome, have the high glucose, lactic acid, PT,APTT and WBC,and low FIB, and always have a longer length of stay. Inmultivariate logistic regression, the factors significantly associated with GCS and length of stay. And68patients which had a surgicaltreatment, always had a low GCS, long length of stay and bad outcome. Conclusion:The GCS, glucose, lactic acid,WBC,PT,APTT,FIB and the length ofstay are associated with outcome of children with traumatic brain injury.
